Camp Creek

1939

2006

Description:

Plate 1330X. Camp Creek 1939 – 2006 Viewed southwest down Camp Creek on the north side of Horse Ranch Mountain. Woody vegetation now blocks the original camera station, so the retake was made from the nearest open area that could safely be reached on the canyon rim. The photopoint is on privately owned land but the view is into the northern-most section of the Kolob Canyons extension to Zion National Park. White fir, spruce, ponderosa pine, oakbrush, curlleaf mountain mahogany, shinney-leaf manzanita, Utah serviceberry, and other mountain brush species have all increased, as have forest fuels.
