Plate 1121X. Brian Head 1948 – 2005 Viewed north-northwest to Brian Head (11,307 ft.). The shrubs in the distance are currants, which appear largely unchanged. Spruce too appear unchanged except for some older trees that have recently been killed by insects and disease. Stipa spp. in the foreground appears to have increased. The area was actively being grazed by domestic sheep in 2005.
