Description:

Plate 587X. Bowers Flat 1941 – 2004 Viewed southwest across Bowers Flat. The meadow has not been root-plowed or reseeded and is dominated by native species, primarily needle grasses. The area was not grazed by livestock in 2004. Conifers, mostly ponderosa pine, white fir, and spruce, have increased, while aspen has declined. The road between Duck Creek and Mammoth Creek has been realigned, widened, and paved.
