Description:

Plate 586X. Bowers Flat 1944 – 2004 Viewed southeast across Bowers Flat to Bowers Knoll (8,546 ft.). The meadow has not been root-plowed or reseeded and is dominated by native species, primarily needle grasses. The area was not grazed by livestock in 2004. Conifers, mostly ponderosa pine, white fir, and spruce, have increased, while aspen has declined. The road between Duck Creek and Mammoth Creek has been realigned, widened, and paved.
