Blaines Reservoir

1947

1999

Description:

Plate 151 BLAINES RESERVOIR: 1947 - 1999 This is a view over Blaines Reservoir with Lake Mountain and Mount Holly in the distance. The water level in the lake is much lower in the 1999 photo than in 1947. The 1999 photo had to be taken forward and lower than the 1947 photo because conifers blocked the view, thus altering the perspective slightly. Aspen (Populus tremuloides) appears less abundant in 1999 than in 1947 while conifers have increased. All of the aspen stands have been heavily invaded by conifers and have not regenerated.
