Utah Shrubland Management Project
The Utah Shrubland Management Project is a collaboration between private landowners and state, federal, and university experts. The specific goals of the project are to create an ecological site-based shrubland management handbook and to establish demonstration sites for the site-specific evaluation of brush management techniques and range planting technology. With these tools, the project aims to improve management effectiveness on Utah’s shrublands. Research is being directed by Tom Monaco, of the USDA Agricultural Research Service and Kari Veblen at Utah State University. Private land owners, located near Park Valley, East Bear Lake, Birdseye, and Cedar Fort, are providing for the establishment of management demonstration plots on their property.
