Utah Food Security and Solutions Symposium masthead

April 17   |   11am - 5pm   |   Eccles Conference Center, USU Logan

Student and Faculty Poster Session 12:30-1:30pm  |   Rooms 205 & 207

Utah State University undergraduate and graduate students, along with faculty members, are invited to participate in a poster session focused on food security and hunger solutions. This event offers a platform to showcase a wide range of research that influences food security—whether it relates to soil science, nutrition, food systems, or addressing socio-cultural barriers. Unlike a peer-reviewed session, this forum is designed to highlight the breadth of work being done at USU that contributes to improving food access and security in Utah and around the world. By sharing research, participants can spark new ideas, foster collaboration, and inspire actionable solutions to food insecurity challenges. Email Rose Judd-Murray to reserve your space at the poster session.

The deadline for registering a poster is April 6, 2025

Benefits to Students Who Participate in the Poster Session
Participating in the poster session allows you to enhance your communication skills, showcase your research to a broader audience, and receive valuable feedback from peers, faculty, and community members. It also fosters interdisciplinary connections, encouraging you to see how your work contributes to larger food security solutions. This experience strengthens your professional development and helps articulate the real-world impact of your research.

Benefits to Faculty Who Participate in the Poster Session
For faculty, especially early career faculty, participating in the poster session offers an opportunity to showcase your research, connect with colleagues across disciplines, and engage with students working on food security solutions. It provides visibility for your work, fosters potential collaborations, and demonstrates community impact — all of which can strengthen future research, funding applications, and tenure portfolios. Additionally, it supports faculty in mentoring students and building a research culture that prioritizes real-world problem-solving.
