Summer Fun Fest

July 27- August 1
Into the Future True to Our Roots

Summer Fun Fest is Davis County’s annual celebration of agriculture, community, and the traditions that have kept this valley connected to its roots for generations. Some things are worth holding onto. The smell of sawdust and livestock. Neighbors catching up in lawn chairs. That feeling of belonging to something bigger than yourself.

"Whether you grew up with your hands in the dirt or you're brand new to what agriculture means in Davis County — there's a place for you here."

Picture a kid walking into the show ring with an animal they've cared for and raised — excited, proud, years of 4-H meetings and early mornings behind them. Picture a neighbor you haven’t seen since last summer, finding you in the bleachers. A dog who came in without a home and leaves with one. A tractor that’s older than anyone watching it, humming back to life. That’s Summer Fun Fest. Six days of the things that matter in a place built to hold them.

This is community. This is Davis County. Come be part of it.

For questions about accessibility or to request accommodations, please contact our Arena Manager, Dianne Knighton, at dianne.huffman@usu.edu prior to the event.

About Us

Summer Fun Fest is hosted by the Davis Agriculture Heritage Center (DAHC), an equestrian and agricultural facility operated under USU Extension in Davis County. The DAHC arena was built to serve Davis County's horse community and agricultural families — a dedicated home for livestock events, 4-H programming, equine competitions, and the traditions that connect generations of Davis County residents to the land.

This event is made possible through the partnership of USU Extension, Davis County 4-H, USU Equine Assisted Services, the DAHC arena staff, and the many volunteers, participants, and community members who show up every year to make it happen.

Questions? Interested in competing, volunteering, or bringing your business as a vendor? Contact the arena or visit us at the USU Botanical Center.

FAQ

Is there an admission fee?

All Summer Fun Fest events are free to attend as a spectator. A registration fee only applies if you'd like to compete in select events such as the barrel race, mud volleyball tournament, baby show, dog costume contest, horse show, and team penning. Details and registration links are available on each individual event listing.

Is this event family-friendly?

Absolutely. Summer Fun Fest is designed with families in mind. Most events are held inside the Davis Agriculture Heritage Center arena, with some outdoor activities as well. Please note the arena is not air-conditioned, so we recommend dressing for the heat, bringing water, and planning accordingly — especially if you're attending midday events during the warmer parts of the week.

Is this a replacement for the Davis County Fair?

Summer Fun Fest is its own event — a community celebration hosted by the Davis Agriculture Heritage Center that honors Davis County's agricultural heritage and highlights the hard work of our 4-H youth. While it carries that same spirit of community gathering, it is a distinct event with its own programming and traditions.

Can I bring my dog?

It depends on the day! Dogs are welcome on Tuesday, July 28 (Dog Days) — in fact, we encourage it. We do ask that all dogs be current on vaccinations, leashed at all times, and under control around other animals and people.

However, for the safety of both your pet and our livestock, dogs are not permitted during livestock events. Working animals, horses, and show livestock are sensitive to the presence of dogs, and we want to keep the experience safe and low-stress for everyone — two-legged and four-legged alike.

A dog runs through weave poles during an agility competition inside an indoor arena. A blue and yellow agility tunnel sits in the foreground, with dirt flooring and event banners in the background.

Four young women sit behind a light blue-draped judging table inside an agricultural arena. Three wear bedazzled cowboy hats and crowns; the second from the left wears a sash reading "Davis County Jr. Queen Princess." Pencils and score sheets are on the table in front of them.

A chocolate Labrador Retriever stands upright on its hind legs on a small blue platform inside an indoor arena, catching a treat mid-air during a 4-H dog show. Agility jump equipment and a "Davis Agricultural Heritage Center" banner are visible in the background.

Close-up of a chestnut horse with a blonde mane and white star marking on its forehead, peering through red metal arena panels while wearing a leather halter. A child sits on a fence rail in the blurred background.

A hand holds up a bright red shaved ice in a yellow cup with a straw outdoors in front of the Davis County Agricultural Heritage Center building on a sunny day.

A young boy wearing a white button-up shirt with a 4-H clover patch on the sleeve focuses intently as he holds the lead chain of a black-faced, freshly shorn sheep fitted with a colorful braided show halter at an indoor livestock show.

A textured impasto-style oil painting titled "Farm Life," displayed on a wire grid wall with a blue 4-H ribbon and label. The painting depicts a person in a blue cap leading a large black cow through a lush green field, with a red barn, patchwork farmland, mountains, and swirling Van Gogh-inspired blue sky in the background.

A young girl with braided hair, wearing a white polo shirt and dark pants, steadies a white and brown Boer goat by its halter during an indoor livestock show. A partially visible sponsor banner referencing Davis County and Utah State University Extension is displayed in the background.
