Interim Vice President for USU Extension
Justen Smith, Interim Vice President for USU Extension, has served USU Extension for 27 years, with the past nine years spent as Director of the Extension Agriculture and Natural Resources Department.
He has secured more than $11 million in grant funding to support agricultural development and has worked in 24 countries with the USDA, USAID, and global partners to strengthen livestock production and improve food security worldwide.
Utah State University Extension provides research-based programs and resources with the goal of improving the lives of individuals, families, and communities throughout Utah. USU Extension operates through a cooperative agreement between the United States Department of Agriculture, Utah State University, and county governments.
