Shooting Sports Information
Weber County 4-H Shooting Sports Program provides a wide range of opportunities for 4-H youth to learn firearm safety, build new skills, and have fun in a safe, supervised environment. NEW this year, youth have an opportunity to receive rank advancements and awards. There is also opportunity for friendly competition.
Age Requirements & Divisions:
Youth MUST be age 8 AND in 3rd grade to participate in shooting sports. Youth turning 8 AND in 3rd grade may participate after their 8th birthday during the 4-H year. Youth must also have their Hunter Safety card or be in the process of obtaining it when enrolling.
Divisions
- Junior 4-H Members 3rd through 5th Grade
- Intermediate 4-H Members 6th through 8th Grade
- Senior 4-H Members 9th through 12th Grade
Grade Eligibility Guidelines for Contests:
County Contest: Grades 3 - 12
State Contest (State 4-H Shooting Sports): Grades 3 - 12
National Contest (National Shooting Sports): Grades 9 - 12
