Weber River Water Temperatures 2013-2015

    Weber River Water Temperatures 2013-2015

UWW volunteers on the Weber River have collected about 80 measurements of water temperature between 2013 and 2015. This figure below shows the average of results by site. On average, water temperature on the Weber River increases throughout the summer. Stream temperature is influenced by varying water volumes, pools, return flows, shading, tributary inputs, air temperature, and groundwater recharge.

Instantaneous water temperature is displayed in the graph below, representing all measurements collected by UWW volunteers between January 2013 and September 2015 on the Weber River. The water temperature standard from Utah cold water fisheries is 20 degrees Celsius, which is represented by the red line. This temperature should not be exceeded to ensure optimal cold water fish health. Although not statistically significant, there appears to be a warming trend with 5 measurements exceeding the criterion in 2015.
