Utah Water Week
Utah Water Week is May 1 - 7, 2016
We all live in a watershed. Help protect our water!
Join Utah Water Watch's Big Water Week
We encourage every Utah Water Watch volunteer to monitor their site during Utah Water Week. If every volunteer collects water quality data this week, then we will have a snapshot of Utah's water quality from across the state. We will post results and maps highlighting interesting findings. All volunteers who submit a monitoring report to our database this week will be entered in a special prize drawing!
Lets get out and monitor!!
What is Utah Water Week?
A safe, reliable water supply is critical to the success of any community. We often take water supply for granted until it is threatened, either by drought, water main breaks, or some other event. In 2007, in an effort to promote the importance of this precious resource, then governor Jon Huntsman Jr. signed legislation designating a state-wide water week, declaring the first full week in May as Water Week. Utah Water Week provides a unique opportunity for both water professionals and the communities they serve to join together to recognize the vital role water plays in our daily lives.
Past Big Water Weeks
During Utah Water Watch's 2nd Annual Big Water Week (2015) volunteers collected monitoring reports on 29 sites across Utah. This provided a snapshot of Utah's water quality during Utah Water Week. Visit the 2014 results and 2015 results page to see maps and data from the sampling.
