Mountain suckers are native to the East Canyon Creek area and other parts of Utah.
They are found in clear, cold streams. Mountain suckers mostly eat “algae” – the microscopic plants that look like a film growing on rocky surfaces in the waters. Mountain suckers are a favorite food of trout and other larger fish.
Cool Fact:
Mountain suckers eat off the bottom. They use their distinctive mouth which points downward and has prominent “lips”.
