Become informed!
Participate in education programs at Swaner or other education centers to learn about our streams and the plants and animals that depend on them.
Take a tour of your local water treatment and waste water treatment plants.
Help with research!
Find a responsible adult, gather a few of your friends, and form a team to take part in Utah Water Watch. As part of the program, your team can collect water quality data on any water body in Utah and report it to researchers at Utah State University.
Volunteer!
Volunteer to help with stream restoration projects. Every spring Swaner asks for volunteers to help harvest willow stalks and replant them along the banks of East Canyon Creek.
Be a conscientious citizen!
Pick up litter you see near streams and lakes.
Mind what you pour down your drains at home or spill on your lawns and driveways. All drains lead to the local river.
