Stream flow is measured by how much water passes a point in the river over a period of time.
In East Canyon Creek flow is measured in cfs (cubic feet per second).
We have measured stream flow and depth at this site throughout the year and are now
able to predict the stream flow if we know the water depth. We measure water depth
with a “pressure transducer”. This measures the weight of the water above it, which
changes when the water depth changes.
