In a First, Remote Jobs Attract a Majority of Applications on LinkedIn

In a first for LinkedIn, remote jobs received 50% of all applications in February 2022 — despite representing less than 20% of all jobs posted. As such, candidates are showing far more interest in remote jobs than onsite opportunities. You can gain a competitive edge in the job market for remote positions by completing the Certified Remote Work Professional course.

Employment flexibility for a rural workforce

Utah State University’s Rural Online Initiative (ROI) program is changing the way students enter the workforceThe ROI program focuses on career paths for jobs that are compatible with remote work. ROI program coordinators have already trained, integrated, and placed more than 300 participants in remote jobs.

USU Extension started the Rural Online Initiative back in 2018,” said Trenton Willson, an ROI regional program coordinator in Central Utah. “Back then we were predicting a career shift to remote  work in the coming 5-10 years, however with COVID-19, pandemic remote working became a very sudden transition for many.”

The ROI program helps prepare existing or developing remote employees by combining online work with interactive workshops that equip course participants with the tools needed to transition from on-site work to virtual careers.
