Garfield County Fair

Wow can you believe that the Garfield County Fair is just about here?!!! It seems like summer just flew right on by and before you know it SCHOOL will be back in.
 
We are trying to encourage all 4-H Participants to enter an entry this year in the fair. The theme for this years fair is Dusty Boots and Derby Cars and here a brief (tentative) schedule of the fair!
 Saturday, August 3rd
Miss Garfield Contest

Wednesday, August 14th
10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. - Enter Exhibits (Home Arts, Fine Arts, 4-H at the Fair Building)
Thursday, August 15th                                                                                                                            
8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. - Enter all Fruits, Vegetable and Flowers at the Fair Building
Judging - Exhibits closed to the public                                                                                                                                                                             
5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. ---- Livestock Show Weigh- In @ triple C Arena
7:00 p.m.-  4-H Rabbit Show                                                                                                                                             
Friday, August 16th
9:00 a.m.- Livestock Show @ Triple C Arena
10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. - Exhibits, Craft Fair open to the public *Free Admission*
11a.m.-Noon – Premium Bank Open/ Prize Money  
NOON- Rides/ Laser Tag (Outdoor Arena)/ Inflatable’s/ Bucking Bull (Fri & Sat) / Games till end of day (Triple C Arena)                                                                                                                                                 
1:30 p.m. - Horse Fun Day @ Green Outdoor Arena (pre-register by 1:00 p.m.)
2:00 p.m. - Bingo @ Fair Building *Great PRIZES*
4:00 p.m. – Mud Volleyball  
5:30 p.m.- Greased Pig Contest                                                                                                       
6 p.m.- ping pong drop ( East of Fair building, 11 and under first, 12 and up directly after)
6:30 p.m.- Beautiful Baby Contest. We will start with youngest to oldest 0-6 months, 7-12 months, then 13-24 months.                                                  
Saturday, August 17th                                                                                                                       
8:00 a.m. - Fun Run (Meet at Fair Building)
8:00 - 10:00 a.m. - Small Animal check in
8:30 a.m.- Rabbit Arba Show                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       
9:00 a.m. – Livestock Show Buyer’s Breakfast (Triple C Arena), and Livestock show Awards and Presentation @ Triple C Arena 
9:00 a.m.- Horse Shoe Tournament @ City Park –sign-ups start @ 9:00 a.m. that morning & ends @ 9:20 sharp. Tournament will start @ 9:30 a.m.
9:30 a.m. - Fish Grab @ City Park Area (Split pond AGES: Up to 10, 11 and up)
10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.- Judging Small Animals
10:00 a.m.- Livestock Auction
10:00 a.m.- till end of day- Rides/ Games/laser tag/bulls, etc.                                                                                                                                                                        
10:30 a.m. – Pet show ( Behind Grandstands)
10:30 a.m. & 11:30 a.m. – Premium Bank Open/ Prize Money
11:00 a.m. - Bingo @ Fair Building
 Noon - Pet Look Alike Contest (Arena)
Noon - Commissioners BBQ  @ City Park *FREE*
2:00 p.m. - Talent Show @ Triple C Arena
2:00 p.m.- Dutch Oven Cook Off
4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.- Eat Dutch Oven Cook Off ($2 a plate)                                                                                             
 5:00 p.m. or after talent show is over - Exhibits Released- Premium Bank Open (Exhibits cannot be picked up until talent contest is over, approx. 5 p.m.)

7:00 p.m. – Demolition Derby (outside arena)
