About Us

Since 2016, we have strived to help those with disabilites lead more enriched lives through equine-assisted services and educated future professionals using evidence-based practices.

Utah State University's Equine Experience program aims to harness the profound potential of animal-human interaction in addressing various conditions of the mind and body. Our vision is to establish a nurturing environment where individuals facing physical, emotional, and developmental challenges find solace and healing through equine-assisted services, as well as provide a place of higher education for future professionals to model and learn from.

At USU's Equine Experience program, therapists will have the opportunity to administer treatments, students will engage in hands-on learning experiences, scientists will conduct groundbreaking research, and horses will receive the utmost care and attention while also being subjects of study and advancement to individual and community member’s lives.

Our program seeks to elevate the role of horses in society by emphasizing their physical and emotional contributions to the well-being of those in need. By integrating rigorous research and education, we aim to promote evidence-based practices in equine-assisted services, ultimately working towards the betterment of both horses and humans alike.
