Landscape Design Series to begin in February

KAYSVILLE, UT- The Utah State University Botanical Center will offer a Landscape Design Series class beginning February 5 and continuing on Thursdays through March 5. The class will explore the origins of garden architecture using the latest in computer aided design, as well as hand drafting.

Participants can expect a large amount of hands-on work in addition to lectures from course instructor, Dede Corrales. The five-part class is an introduction to garden design, allowing students to create using their own landscape as a template.

“I'll be teaching both computer and hand drawing so there will be options for those who feel uncomfortable with computers,” Corrales said.

Participants of any skill level are welcome to sign up for the class. Students will have the opportunity to learn about basic design principles, landscape architecture, plant selection and more.

Registration for the course is $134 for USUSBC Members and $149 for the public. All class materials are included in the cost. The class will take place in the USUBC Greenhouse, Thursday afternoons from 3-5 p.m.
