Operation Survivor

4-H Day Camp Sponsored by Passages to Recovery

Survivor CampImagine the following scenarios; traveling from deserted island to deserted island, trying to safely gather all your team members from the shark infested ocean… alive; finding a lost treasure with just a map and compass; starting a fire with just sticks, rocks and your own hands. Sound fun?

These are just part of the challenges and activities teams of 4-H kids participated in at last week’s 4-H day camp, sponsored by Passages To Recovery. Teaming up Wayne County Extension/4-H, Passages To Recovery staff volunteered their time, skills and materials to bring Operation Survivor 4-H Day Camp to the youth of Wayne County.

4-H youth spent the day at the Community Center and the park in Bicknell, and at the Sunglow camp ground enjoying team building activities and learning wilderness survival based skills under the direction of Passages To Recovery staff, Wayne County Extension staff, and local 4-H teen leaders. The Camp included lunch, a t-shirt, and tons of learning fun!
