Horse Program

Horse ProgramWhether you're interested in English, Western, or Working Ranch Horses, you'll enjoy our Wayne County Horse Program!

For more information, explore the Utah 4-H Horse Program pages.

Working Ranch Horse Program

If you're interested in horses and horse care, come join our Working Ranch Horse Program!

Rather than a focus on showing horses, our group places emphasis on ranch skills. Young people will learn about horses and their role on a working ranch.

Spring/Summer 2010 Classes

Our classes in horsemanship include some of the following topics:

  • Horse Anatomy
  • Horse Markings
  • Horse Equipment (i.e., saddles and bits)
  • Roping and Riding
  • Working Houses (i.e., driving cattle)

The first classes will be taught indoors without a horse. If your child doesn't have a horse, he or she is still welcome to attend.

County Fair

Our group will be involved in county fair activities, so come join the fun.

Volunteers Needed

If you know about horses and would like to share your skills, we're looking for volunteers to teach classes, work with youth, and help with the program.
