Local 4-H teen leaders attended the 21st annual 4-H mock legislature in Salt Lake City.

On April 20, 2010 Wayne County 4-H youth had the opportunity to attend the 21st Annual 4-H Mock Legislature session. This event is held at the state capitol building in Salt Lake City. Eighty youth from counties across Utah attended. The 4-H youth learned the legislative process by acting as representatives for their county.

Youth participated by voting and debating bills, attending the House of Representatives, and meeting Representative Paul Ray of Davis County. The bills on the house floor pertained to issues facing teenagers. They included SB 113S01 Wireless Telephone Use Restriction for Minors in Vehicles, SB49S04 Vending Machines in Public Schools, HB32 Livestock Damage Compensation Amendments.
