SET Squad Family Night - Spring 2011
Youth enjoyed a variety of science activities at the Spring SET Squad Family night on March 25. The Island Adventures program begins on Monday. Come join the fun at the Loa Civic Center Mondays (4:00-5:00PM).
The family night evening events previewed the upcoming Island Adventures program. Everyone was encouraged to contribute to an Island Adventures mural featuring an island surrounded by ocean.

At one table, participants created fish from plastic bottles, colored paper, pompoms, and string. We talked about the parts of a fish.

At another table, youth created colorful fish from melted crayons and contributed to a group aquarium. We talked about why the crayon melts.

At the Water, Water, Everywhere table, participants experimented with water. What water is good to drink?

Youth also learned to create a compass.

The evening also showcased the robot program completed this winter.
