The following models and equipment can be checked out at locations around Utah:

Watershed / Surface water model

Realistic watershed models  demonstrate how water and pollutants move across a watershed.  The models also demonstrate the effectiveness of different management practices.  Interactive, hands on and great for all ages.

Groundwater model

This cross section model demonstrates how water and pollutants move through the groundwater.  Great visual aid for understanding water tables, subsurface water and pollution movement.

Stream Hydrology Trailer

The stream hydrology trailer demonstrates how natural streams are formed and the importance of streamside vegetation to protect the banks.  Can be used to demonstrate impacts of dams, flooding, development, and other sources of erosion.

To haul the trailer, must have a full size pickup and a class 3, 4 or 5 trailer hitch.  Trailer requires an outdoor power and water source at the location. 

Can be checked out from USU - Logan only.

 

 

Monitoring Equipment

All monitoring equipment necessary to conduct monitoring identified in Utah Stream Team, Stream Side Science or Bugs Don’t Bug Us is available for checkout.  Kits include: dissolved oxygen, temperature, turbidity, nitrates, pH, and macroinvertebrate collection supplies, instructions.
