What We Can Bring To You

We offer 25 minute to 2 hour presentations on various water-related topics.  All of our activities are hands-on and tied to the core curriculum.  Please see the following program descriptions.

Water Cycle (K-6, emphasis on 4th grade)

Classroom activities that focus on the water cycle.  Activities include:

  • A Drop in the Bucket - a demonstration of the quantities of water on the earth and the various storage reservoirs.
  • Water Cycle Drama - students act out the components of the water cycle in a game similar to charades.
  • The Incredible Journey - students take a journey through the water cycle as a drop of water in this Project WET activity.
  • Water Cycle Relay - students review key terms of the water cycle in a relay race format

Water Quality (K-6, emphasis on 4th grade)

Classroom activities that focus on water quality and water pollution.  Activities include:

  •  Water Pollution Graphing - students analyze a mock water sample (skittles) and graph the different pollutant types.

Water Quality Monitoring (6-12 grades)

Classroom and field activities that focus on water quality and water pollution.  Activities include:

  • Chemical Monitoring - dissolved oxygen, pH, temperature, turbidity, nitrates
  • Biological Monitoring - macroinvertebrates as water quality indicators, riparian vegetation
  • Physical Monitoring - stream shape, stream flow

Bugs Don't Bug Me! (K-6)

Classroom and field activities that focus on aquatic macroinvertebrates.  Activities include:
