    "The Tony Winners"

At the 2015 Salt Lake County Watershed Symposium on Nov. 18th & 19th, Utah Water Watch Coordinator Brian Greene along with Dr. Maura Hahnenberger from Salt Lake Community College gave a presentation about outdoor experiential water education programs. Dr. Hahnenberger talked about iUTAH Water Girls, a program that takes middle school girls out for a three day science exploration to local Salt Lake County streams. Brian talked about the Utah Water Watch program and highlighted both the data that volunteers collect and their increase in science skills. Both of these programs receive funding from the NSF iUTAH program as part of their education, outreach, and diversity mission.

Attendees voted on the awards for the best talks at the symposium and this talk won the "Tony Award" for most engaging presentation.  You can view an online PDF of the powerpoint entitled Don't Drink the Water? Testing Water for Science & Outreach
