Wildfires

Wildfire can have devastating effects for those who aren’t prepared. Nationally an average of more that 140,000 wildfires occur each year, burning a total of almost 14.5 million acres. Since 1990, more than 900 homes have been destroyed each year by wildfires. In 1996, there were 750 major wildfires in Utah that burned more than 500,000 acres. The cost to fight these fires was $22 million.
