Volunteering

Success of Tooele Extension programs depends on volunteer service. You may volunteer in any of the extension areas to strengthen your community.

Youth Development:

Make a difference in the life of local youth by sharing your time and talents. Become a 4-H youth volunteer by assisting in existing 4-H clubs or start your own 4-H club. The clubs in place are livestock, horse, shooting sports, sewing cooking, computer, poultry, insects, and many more. You can also become a youth mentor with the Families and Youth With Promise program. All youth volunteers must fill out an application for background checks and attend volunteer leader training. Contact the USU Extension Office at 277-2400 or email patty.wheeler@usu.edu.

Agriculture:

Get involved in agriculture/natural resource research projects, workshops, tours, and farm field days. To volunteer contact Linden Greenhalgh at 277-2407or email linden.greenhalgh@usu.edu.

Horticulture:

If you enjoy gardening come join the Master Gardener Organization. Master Gardeners server this community by teaching gardening classes, answering gardening questions and helping with community gardens. For more info go to the Master Gardener page.

Home Economics:

The holiday fair has been a tradition in Tooele County for many years. These and other workshops and classes are put on with assistants of many volunteers.
