Dairy Council of UT/NV
Founded in 1953, the Dairy Council of UT/NV is one of 18 state and regional organizations across the country that works closely with the National Dairy Council office to communicate and promote dairy products. The Dairy Council of UT/NV is made up of a small group of dedicated professionals who work on behalf of local dairy farm families to educate consumers, generate public awareness, and communicate dairy's message. Promotion efforts represent local farmers' legacy of on-farm excellence and environmental stewardship, and their commitment to producing quality, nutritious dairy products. With fewer people involved in agriculture, the UT/NV Dairy Council aims to make connections between food and farmer by introducing people to the faces, farms, and families behind their local dairy foods.
Since 1915, the National Dairy Council has led the country in dairy nutrition research, education, and communication and is a nationally recognized leader in educating school children. Fuel Up to Play 60, a joint initiative led by the National Dairy Council and the National Football League has more than 11 million students and 73,000 schools enrolled in the program. Over 65% of Utah and Nevada schools are involved. By encouraging students to eat well, get active for at least 60 minutes a day, and make a difference in their schools, Fuel Up to Play 60 empowers youth to progress toward a healthy future.
Many local and national dairy farmers are working to produce high quality nutritious dairy foods, while protecting the land, preserving the natural environment, and caring for their animals.
