As you may or may not be aware Sterling Banks is retiring. His last day is Friday, December 1, 2017. This means that the Livestock Committee structure has changed.
The Committee met recently and selected new officers.
President – Jim Brooks, Vice President – Chase Black, Secretary – Vickie Joiner. – Treasurer – Arlin Ovard.
Rest assure, the Summit County Jr. Livestock Program will continue as is, but there will be a transition time period between Sterling retiring and a new person coming on board therefore, specific program dates will be forth coming by email or newsletter as in the past. This information will be delayed until the first part of March. We will make sure you are notified, so plan on purchasing as you have the past few years. Ownership deadlines will be similar to past years.
We will make sure you receive the required information well in advanced of the deadline dates.
p.s. We have received several calls the past few days concerning the process/timetable in hiring someone to replace Sterling. USU has indicated that the Summit County Ag/4-H Agent position will be advertised starting the first part of December. Therefore, based upon past USU hiring procedures we hope to have an Agent hired and on board by the end of February or the first part of March.
