"Even the United States as the wealthiest nation in the world is home to many families who wonder where their next meal is coming from or how their food is going to get their family through the entire month. The Food $ense Nutrition Education program aims to help those low-income families budget properly and get the best nutrition out of what they can afford."
The Food Sense Nutrition Education program is available right here in Sanpete County. This is a great resource for health right at your fingertips. We have two trained Nutrition Education Assistants who are willing to come to your home or community to teach you and your friends about basic nutrition, cooking, and exercise.
We also offer free day classes starting in January 2009. Classes will be held every third Wednesday at the USU Extension office at 325 W. 100 N. Ephraim UT 84627. Class subjects include: Quick Meals, MyPyramid, Menu Planning and Shopping, Using Fruits and Vegetables in Season, Heart Healthy Eating, Fitness, and other informative classes.
Please call Anna Bailey or Lisle Dewey for more information about these monthly classes at 435-283-7598.
