Description:

Plate 1298X. Yovimpa Pass 1934 – 2006 Viewed southeast down Lower Podunk Creek in Bryce Canyon National Park. The camera station is on the canyon rim 500 yards east of Yovimpa Pass. No Man’s Mesa is in the distance. The haze in the retake is from a fire on Navajo Mountain. Ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, white fir, spruce, pinyon, juniper, oak brush, Utah serviceberry, and other mountain brush species have all increased, as have forest fuels. Some areas on BLM lands in the distance have been chained and a wildfire has made a crown-run in pinyon-juniper - - photo right-center edge.
