Description:

Plate 415X. Yellow Creek Flat 1939 – 2004 Viewed north across Yellow Creek Flat about a mile above Georgetown, UT. Locally this area is known as Red Cove and according to Bob Ott, who owns this property, the fence though the flat was built in 1942. Wyoming big sage, greasewood, and four-wing saltbrush have all increased, though, some sagebrush was recently been killed by the extended drought. Pinyon and juniper have also increased. The tall shrubs on the hillside in the foreground are cliff rose. A 10 to 15 feet deep arroyo has cut into the flat and headwall cutting is ongoing.
