Description:

Plate 1444X. Wolf Springs Wash 1937 – 2007 Viewed south down Wolf Springs Wash on the Lower Kolob Plateau in Zion National Park. The road to Lee Valley has been realigned and graveled, reducing erosion. The old roadbed has naturally revegetated. Oakbrush, pinyon, juniper, ponderosa pine, Utah serviceberry, and sagebrush have all increased, as have native grasses. The area to the left of the road was prescribe burned by the Park Service killing sagebrush and increasing grass cover. Cave Knoll (6,495 ft.) is in the distance (photo left center), while Spendlove Knoll is on the right.
