Plate 1435X. Wolf Springs Wash 1937 – 2007 Viewed southwest at the head of Wolf Springs Wash on the Lower Kolob Plateau in Zion National Park. Spendlove Knoll is in the distance. The road to Lee Valley has been graveled, reducing erosion. Oak and other mountain brush species have increased, as have pinyon, juniper, and ponderosa pine on the lower slopes of the knoll. Sagebrush has increased to the right of the road, while the area left of the road was prescribe burned by the Park Service reducing shrub cover. Native grasses have increased on both sides of the road.
