Plate 1208X. Virgin River Valley 1929 – 2006 Viewed north up the Virgin River Valley below Springdale, Utah. On the left is Mount Kinesava (7,285 ft), while on the right is West Temple (7,810 ft) both of which are in Zion National Park. The valley bottom is privately owned and new homes have been built. Utah Highway 9 has been widened and paved. Woody riparian vegetation has increased along the Virgin River. Pinyon and juniper have increased in the distance.
