Description:

Plate 245X. Podunk Creek 1960 - 1961 - 2003 Viewed southeast up Podunk Creek. The 1960 image was made before the area was contour-trenched and reseeded to control erosion, while the 1961 photograph was taken shortly after the area was treated by the Forest Service. Today, spruce, juniper, and limber pine have increased, but aspen has declined. The low-growing shrubs are rubber rabbitbrush. The planted grasses are mostly smooth brome, intermediate wheatgrass, and Kentucky bluegrass. The area had not been grazed by livestock in 2003. Retakes were also made from the same camera station by the Forest Service in 1988 and 2000.
