Ikes Valley





Plate 989X. Ikes Valley 1952 – 1958 – 1963 – 2005 Viewed west along line one of the Parker Three-Step Transect at the head of Ikes Valley - - this is approximately 400 yards west of the reservoir seen in Plates 985x and 986x. The area in the foreground has been treated and is mostly smooth brome and Kentucky bluegrass with some native needle and thread. Juniper and ponderosa pine have increased. The most common shrubs are currant, bitterbrush, and green rabbitbrush. The site was actively being grazed by sheep in 2005.
