Description:

Plate 1152X. Fivemile Hollow 1957 – 1962 – 2005 Viewed southeast along line two of the Parker Three-Step Transect in Fivemile Hollow northwest of Panguitch, Utah. The area was root-plowed and reseeded with crested wheatgrass a few years before the initial image was made. With time, however, mountain big sage, rubber rabbitbrush, and green rabbitbrush have invaded the seeding. Pinyon and juniper have also increased, further reducing forage production. The area was grazed by cattle in 2005. Side oats gramma is present.
