Strawberry Point

Description:

Plate 576X. Strawberry Point 1941 – 2004 Viewed west-southwest down Hay Canyon near Strawberry Point. Conifers, primarily white fir, spruce, ponderosa pine, pinyon, and juniper, have all increased, as has other woody vegetation. The area below the point is mostly private and summer homes are being built with increasing frequency. As forest fuel increase so does the likelihood of large-scale, high-intensity crown fires and accompanying property loss.
