Spectacle Lake

1938

2002

Description:

Plate 75X. Spectacle Lake 1938-2002 Viewed northwest along the eastern shore of Spectacle Lake on the Aquarius Plateau (a.k.a. Boulder Top). This photograph apparently was taken late in spring or early in summer after the dam on the lake’s outlet had failed - - see Plate 77x. The dam has since been rebuilt, which accounts for the boulders in the foreground of the retake. Conifers, primarily spruce, have increased markedly.
