Plate 1364X. Sidney Overlook 1938 – 2006 Viewed northwest from Sidney Overlook down Dark Hollow and Second Left Hand Canyon to Parowan Canyon. Parowan Valley is in the distance. Conifers have increased, while aspen has declined. Many spruce, however, have recently been killed by insects and disease. Pinyon and juniper have also increased, except where overrun by wildfire - - photo right center. Conifers now block the original camera station, so the retake was made from the nearest open area.
