Ponderosa Viewpoint

Description:

Plate 1266X. Ponderosa Viewpoint 1966 – 2006 Viewed east down the South Fork of Ponderosa Canyon from the Ponderosa Viewpoint in Bryce Canyon National Park. Conifers now block the original camera station, so the retake was made 30 feet further north (left). Nevertheless, two trees now partly obscure the view. Pinyon, juniper, conifers, and mountain brush species have increased. Many of the older spruce, though, have recently been killed by insects and disease.
