Pole Creek

1965

2000

Description:

Plate 242. POLE CREEK 1965-2000 Viewed east-southeast to the Pole Canyon Exclosure west of Circleville, Utah. The foreground and most of the exclosure burned 10-15 years ago, which reduced the canopy cover of sagebrush and pinyon-juniper. Behind the exclosure, however, pinyon and juniper increased where they were not burned. A fire-line was also built between the photopoint and the exclosure fence in an attempt to stop that blaze. Many of the exclosure’s wooden fence posts were consumed by that fire and have since been replaced. Rabbitbrush increased after the fire. Two, high-voltage powerlines have been constructed behind the exclosure. This is similar to Plate 241.
