Plate 1437X. Pole Canyon 1938 – 2007 Viewed northwest up Pole Canyon on the Kolob Plateau in Zion National Park. The camera was tilted to the left when the initial image was made. Ponderosa pine, pinyon, juniper, and shinney-leaf ceanothus have all increased. The lava flow in the center of the images rests atop Navajo sandstone.
