Podunk Creek

1964

2003

Description:

Plate 240X. Podunk Creek 1964 - 2003 Erosion control structures at the headwall cut on Podunk Creek below Coyote Spring. Plate 240x is viewed south. The rock structures were built in 1958 on what was then an intermittent stream. Spruce has increased while aspen has declined. The streambanks and channel appear more heavily vegetated today than they did in the earlier photo. The area was not grazed by cattle in 2003. The meadow is mostly smooth brome and Kentucky bluegrass, but sedges dominate the wetter areas, especially along the creek.
