Plate 657X. Pine Valley Mountains 1969 – 2004 Viewed southeast to the west end of the Pine Valley Mountains. Baker Reservoir and the Santa Clara River are hidden from view by the slope of the land. The photopoint is on the road to Baker Reservoir. The 1969 photo shows the newly chained and reseeded areas to the east of the Santa Clara River. Today, however, juniper and pinyon have increased on the chained areas, as well as in the foreground.
