Plate 776X. Pine Valley 1948 – 2004 Viewed southwest near the town of Pine Valley, Utah. The original photograph shows the area shortly after it was Dixie-harrowed and reseeded with crested wheatgrass in 1947. Mountain big sage has increased as have pinyon and juniper. In the distance ponderosa pine, white fir, spruce, and mountain brush have increased, as have forest fuels.
