Description:

Plate 1438X. Pine Spring Wash 1961 – 2007 Viewed east-northeast to where the Kolob road crosses Pine Spring Wash in Zion National Park. Erosion has declined and the wash is more vegetated today than it was in earlier times. Note the loose sand in the 1961 image and the absence of such today. Ponderosa pine, oak, and mountain brush have all increased. The fences have been removed, as the area is no longer grazed by livestock. The road has been paved.
