Plate 1182X. Pine Creek Valley 1930 – 2006 Viewed west down Pine Creek Valley in Zion National Park. The original photograph was taken 100 yards west of Carl’s Bend (Garate 1989) during construction of the Zion-Mount Carmel Road (Utah Highway 9). The road-cut and fill have naturally revegetated with rubber rabbitbrush and cheatgrass. Pinyon, juniper, Utah serviceberry, and turbinella oak have increased.
